girlfriend ahead of the world

I was in a situation. I put my girlfriend ahead of the world. I gave up all my friends and never looked for anything else to do but be with her. This scared her because she just wasn't ready to dedicate herself to one person. She loves me and I love her, but we just couldn't keep it together with me being so intense about her and her wanting some freedom.
