How Mama Got Her Groove Back What? Being grateful makes you sexy? Yes, it's true. Sleep deprived, carpooling super moms can turn into sexy, playful, sensual creatures if we focus on what's working in our life vs. focusing on all that we want to change.
All the men I've talked to say that sexy moms are happy in their own skin, they radiate pleasure, they are approachable and in love with life. They seem to savor every moment, the way they pick up fruit at the grocery store, the way they tussle their kids hair, the way things might piss them off but they roll with the punches having this kind of presence comes from the inside out. When we focus on all our challenges and annoyances we are like a bomb ready to go off any second what next will go wrong!? When we are grateful for our health, our wealth millions of people don't even have a refrigerator or a closet full of clothes! We can be grateful that we can witness the sun setting and falling stars that we can see, period! Personally, this makes me exhale, smile, open, and then I start to glow, feel energized, vibrant and my smile brightens the grocery store line, my kids don't seem so annoying and when the man comes home, I'm grateful that a man DID come home to me then I wonder, how did he get so hot? It's all perspective.
I sit outside in the drive way with my son and I ask him what he's thankful for.I write it down in chalk thank you for the earth, for the Wiggles, for teachers at dinner we light candles every night and we make a wish for ourselves and the people we love he wishes for painting with mom and hiking with Dad, at bedtime we both say our thank yous until he drifts off to sleep, thank you for the sun, for apples, for magic.
Use drive time to say a few thank yous before you pick up the kids use shower time for thank yous as you begin your day use brushing your teeth time for thank yous before you snuggle up to your man each night. If your bed is empty like mine was as a single mom, I especially like to say thank yous before I go on a date because I was so friggen' nervous and it helped me relax and keep things in perspective. |
