 Dating someone who just doesn't "smell right"
Have any of you dated someone who smelled funny? Ive been dating this absolutely wonderful man for a few months. He's smart, ambitious, good-looking and funny. The catch? He has a funky odor. I noticed it on our first date and thought it was dirty clothes. I've brought it up a couple of times (in a nice way of course) saying "oh, i LOVE that cologne" why don't you try it? Or "why don't you try using two dryer sheets- they make your clothes really soft"
I don't know what else to do. I think it's just his natural body odor that I don't like. I've read some articles online saying that some men can smell like "vanilla" to one woman and like some other less desirable scent to another. Can someone's hygiene really be THAT bad? He has had so many girlfriends over the last decade so i don't understand why none of the women have said anything to him.
Have any of you had any experience with this? I haven't and i have been dating for many many years. I don't want to break up with this guy because i like him in so many ways, but i really want to be able to breathe when im around him.  |
