Default Question on a rebound relation

I was a rebound in my relation with my Ex, and now he's gone back to his Ex. He was with his Ex for 3 years and with me for 3 months. Now that they are together, do you think his Ex can be a rebound and he would either move on to some one else or maybe some day get back to me ?

I mean does some one dump some one to move on to his Ex and then move back to the person he dumped.Has anyone had a similar situation ?

I honestly don't think that there is much hope for you in this situation. It hurts: but its better to move on.

Well, then honey you're james be hurting for a while. I can't offer you any advice on how to take care of a broken heart. I can only say: move on...find passion in the things you love and surround yourself with people who love you...love on others and help people and you'll possibly forget about your situation. Focus on other things.

The fact that there isn't any hope is likely to fuel your passion even more. Maybe I shouldn't have told you that.

I haven't been in that position, but I think it's best for you to write him off, tush. These short-lived relationships can be very difficult to get over. Mine was just 5 months, but it caused the worst pain of any break-up for me. People in our situation have that feeling that things were just getting started, we were still in the honeymoon phase, and so it feels like the relationship never ran its course.

However, it's best for you to write him off completely. Try to keep any thoughts of him coming back to a minimum, and keep up with the NC. He may end things with his ex-ex again, but if he tries to come back to you, I wouldn't let him back in. It'll only prove to him that he can manipulate you and use you when he wants you, and you're worth more than that!

You can't overcome your emotions. Ignore people who tell you that you shouldn't feel the way you feel about things. You do. And thats what matters. You need to accept that you feel this way but you also need to move on and accept that there is nothing you can do about it.

Getting over someone is very weird. One day, it'll just happen. You'll be thinking about some random thing that will remind you of him and you'll say, "boy, I'm glad I'm not trapped in a relationship with that man."

I have had a few friends that did this or was involved in this. It never worked out for the rebound person. Every time they went back to the ex, they got married shortly after. It sucks. Dating can not be the most fun thing to do. I think a lot of us put our hearts out there too fast and get hurt just about every time. If we would just be patient and not get too involved too fast, then dating would be a lot more fun and less hurtful.

it's ok you know how you feel when you say your heart still beats for him. There are just some people we meet along the way that are special to us. Unfortunatley you were a rebound and that sucks.
There isn't much to do, no easy answers, just keep focusing on the obvious I guess. That he's with someone else right now by choice.
I am so sorry for your pain, I know it hurts bad.

So true, I have friends who tell me "Oh it was just 3 months, move on!" But I've never been nursing so much pain with any of my past relations. I ve noticed that shorter the duration more the pain it cause. Especially in my case the honeymoon phase had just begun and then the bomb dropped!

You are right I need to get him out of my system, I tried hating him, it didnt work. I was in NC for over a month until I met him recently, now he's hijacked my emotions again. sigh.

How love is so painful ? Why does our heart not give up on hope so easily...sigh

Yes, its the tragedy of knowing this person is with some one else, knowing he dumped you, caused you immense pain, yet you long for him, his touch, his company, his words, just feels illogical he might be with some one else. Strange.
