Do women like men with long or short hair? In getting my profile reviewed recenty a poster suggested that I change myself rather than just reviewing my profile. This struck me as odd, and his retort suggested that women only like men with short hair. Myself as a feminist believe in freedom and equality for men and women and have always preferred myself with long hair, and I don't really understand why women at least appear to only like men with short hair, as the previously mentioned poster suggested. The way I see it is it would be sexist for me to say that a woman should only have long hair, and I feel that it is the same in reverse, and yet this seems to be not only tolerated but believed by both men and women here on mozunk. So does that mean that it is only that the people here like men with short hair or are the people here more diverse than just those who believe men should have short hair? Is it possible that there is a silent majority out there who believes otherwise? Why can't people be less judgmental and more inclusive of those who prefer to emphasize gender similarity in their appearance rather than gender differentiation? These are the central questions in this issue for me and I would love to hear from others about this issue.

Hey I was just trying to help! IMHO it's not the length of you hair but the style. It looks too much like a toupee. But what do I know I'm bald. If you are happy with yourself it shouldn't matter what others think. Men or women.

I like men period. Young, old, short, tall, long hair, bald, suit and tie, tattoos, etc. In your pictures your hair is not very flattering. I like running my fingers thru hair or over a smooth head just the same so it is which makes you look best. Maybe take some length off and give it a style. It is rare to be middle age and full folicled but even Cher has cut her mane!

I guess I'm kind of partial to long hair on guys. Must be a hangover from the 60s/70s. However, the hair should be well-groomed. I do agree that you appear to be in need of a trim. It looks rather thick and unruly. Perhaps it is time to consider a new style. something layered maybe. I'm not judging you, you understand. Just giving an honest opinion in response to your question.

Some men look fine with long hair, just as some women look great with short hair. There are other men who should not have long hair or who should go with a different long hairstyle, just as there are some women who would look awful with short hair or could use a different short hairstyle. My sister was a perfect example of someone who looked great with short hair. Last year she agreed to shave her head if her friends and what not could raise $2000 for cancer research. Well they raised the money and she shaved her head. Well that didn't look so great, but she had a wig. After a bit when she started growing it out, she had this cute, spikey little hairdo going on and it was super cute. So cute I was tempted to have something similar done for the summer. But on me the same hairstyle would look awful because our faces are so different (she takes after my dad's side, I take after my mom's). And no offence OP, but the style you're sporting doesn't really suit you.

I am not fond of men with real long hair (pony tail) but I have to admit there is one guy here on POF who I think is SMOKIN HOT with it! so I guess it just depends on each guy and how they wear it. Now your hair I would consider "medium length" which most men don't wear well. most men look better with short hair or long hair. But again, it just depends on the individual. Your hair is horrible. The style does not suit you one bit. It does look either fake like one other poster suggested or dirty. This is probably due to you have very thick hair with a natural wave/curl to it. Which is probably why you like it longer right? Too curly/wavy when its short? So I would agree with the man who suggested a makeover, sometimes we all need outside opinions of ways that we could improve our appearances this seems to be your time! Good Luck!

Then surely you understand that there can be no definite answer that fits "all women". Some do. Some don't. Some don't care. Others have given you some specific feedback about YOUR hair, that's probably all you need to focus on, rather than finding the magical key to "all women".

Some men can pull off long hair, others can't. My son recently cut more than 6" off his hair but he also has naturally curly hair and when I could get him to actually comb it, he looked really good. Guys with stringy long hair look like they just never got over the sixties and as others have mentioned, your hair appears to be a toupee. My hair is short right now because all of the medication I was on in March caused a great deal of it to fall out. It was short in middle school but long for most of high school. Cut short again when around 22, and again around 30. I look good with long or short hair, some people don't. I have grown my hair because both my husbands preferred long hair but it takes me the same amount of time to maintain so it doesn't matter to me. People should wear their hair the way they like it but if they want to look good, they should also either look at themselves objectively or find someone that will give them an honest opinion.

i gotta say im not keen of long hair on men i would way prefer a man to have short hair, but to each their own. i would prefer a guy totally bald than long hair, and the ones with a horendous cover up, if its going at the top DO NOT grow the back, likewise hair transplants wigs toupes etc, you just end up looking like you got comedy hair not good. was trying to think who you reminded me of OP and you look remarkably like the guy from Peters and Lee which if you not from UK you prob no clue who they are but he was half of a 70s singing duo, you look a whole lot like him.

Yes of course TO Woman I agree with you. I was simply using the terms men and women without qualifiers to simplify my questions and not intended as absolute categories, though I guess I can understand why you would interpret it that way, given the history of categorical imperitives in our culture. Perhaps my question would more accurately reflect the kind of debate I am trying to stimulate if it said most men and most women seem to prefer men with short hair. I appreciate everyones comments, which seems to be leading me in a different direction than I was expecting (an actual discussion of short hair preferrers vs long hair preferrers, but as one person said they like different looks on different men, and maybe that is more to the point here than anything else. Now I can find a categorie to post my next set of discussions around what looks good and what doesn't or something (or maybe I won't). It seems pretty unanimous that people don't like my hair style, and while I do, I have to think about what style might be best for me and how does one decide what is best in such a case best for who best for what best for when best for where which best style oh too many questions right now ok that was a momentary pheonomenological lapse sorry, Anyway, is there an image consultant categorie on this site anywhere? of course other comments are welcome, though this topic may be dead before it gets very far thanks again to those who contributed.
